Learn moreTRIBE Are Donating 25% Of Every Case Sold On Delicious Ideas To Help Fight Modern Slavery
Ben Potter, 21.04.22 Delicious Ideas Food Group are working with long-standing supplier TRIBE, who create natural plant-based nutrition to help fight modern slavery and end human trafficking. This May, 25% of every case of TRIBE nutrition purchased through Delicious Ideas will be donated to the TRIBE Freedom Foundation. One of the main fundraising elements for the foundation are their incredible running challenges, which I am taking on! On the 21st May 2022, I will be embarking on TRIBE’s Race to the Golden Island as part of the TRIBE Run for Love 4. The Golden Island half marathon is the ultimate Run for Love finale! Taking place on the stunning Croatian island of Krk, the event gives runners and walkers, of all levels, a chance to experience the amazing camaraderie and challenge that embodies TRIBE Run for Love. The race, including the Race to the Golden Island and the separate ultra-marathon race (which I am definitely not taking part in!) aims to raise £150,000 for the TRIBE Freedom Foundation. You can find some more details on the longer race here. The charities mission is to fight modern slavery and end human trafficking. It’s absolutely shocking to think that this is a problem that occurs in the UK in this day and age, and I hope to raise some money and awareness through this campaign.According to TRIBE’s Co-Founder, Rob Martineau, there are three factors that make the race so hard. It’s hilly, incredibly hot and very rocky underfoot – I’m going to have to use the next six weeks very wisely! Please find my just giving link here. I would greatly appreciate any donations, with 100% of the money going to the TRIBE Freedom Foundation!I spoke with TRIBE Co-Founder Rob Martineau on TRIBE’s most iconic race, the TRIBE Run for Love. "TRIBE Run for Love is an epic adventure series, inspired by a transcontinental journey across Europe, from Odessa in Ukraine to Dubrovnik in Croatia. This was the first Run for Love; an epic 1,000 mile ultramarathon to fight child trafficking, completed by co-founders Tom, Rob & Guy in 2013". "Since the original Run for Love, we have continued to work towards the same goal, mobilising thousands of everyday athletes and adventurers to push their own limits to help increase awareness of modern slavery and end human trafficking". We are therefore thrilled to announce that 10% for every case of TRIBE sold through Delicious Ideas Food Group in May will be donated to Ben’s fundraiser. To upgrade this even further, TRIBE have decided to donate 15% of every case sold through Delicious Ideas Food Group in May, taking the total to 25% per case sold in May! Delicious Ideas Food Group are a wholesaler who supply snacks, confectionery and beverages including TRIBE to thousands of sites around the UK. Learn moreIntroducing... TRIBE Mission Flapjacks created by Halimot Ogunnaike, trafficking survivor and East London Baker
We are so excited to announce that this Summer we will be launching a Mission Flapjack created by Halimot Ogunnaike, an amazing Nigerian-born trafficking survivor who runs Haliberry Cakes in East London. We can't wait to see what flavour Flapjack Halimot creates in the TRIBE kitchen! Halimot has been supported by Ella's, who provide care and support for trafficking survivors to recover and move forwards. You can read more here about Halimot's amazing story. 25% of all profits from the Mission Flapjack created by Halimot will be donated to Ella's. Ella's is a wonderful charity that the TRIBE Freedom Foundation has partnered with for over 5 years and its's Directors (Emily and Minke) have run over four TRIBE Run for Loves between them! Read the following Q&A to learn more about the Mission Flapjack and Halimot's passion for bakery: How have Ella's supported you on your journey? Ella’s has supported me in so many ways; they help me with my asylum status, accommodation, financial support, mental support, family love that I crave for so much, helping with my kids uniform. One of the greatest things I will never forget is helping me to see mum after so many years of not seeing her... I hope to see her again soon 😊 Where did you get your passion for baking from? Let just say it became a passion later. When I was younger, I wanted to be a doctor or nurse to look after people and make them happy... but this dream was taken away at the age of 9. Years later life gave me another way to make people happy and my passion grew up from there. What motivated you to start Haliberry Cakes? A lots of things motivated me and there is a story behind it... but I will cut it short; love, empathy, humanity and sense of purpose and belonging. Plus I refuse to accept that I’m not good in anything. Why are you excited about the project to make a TRIBE Flapjack? I’m excited because TRIBE finds me worthy of this project.. also my sisters out there will benefit from this project and when they hear about this it will encourage them not to give up. What flavour Flapjacks are you excited to make with TRIBE? "Banana Chocolate and Walnut" & "Rhubarb and Strawberry"
